Our Team

Brian Devlin, Executive Director

Brian Devlin has 25+ year in banking and financial services. Most of that time has been spent in various commercial banking and management roles in Denver, Kansas City and Wichita.  A native of Wichita, Brian graduated from the University of Kansas with a B.A. in Political Science and Economics.

After graduation, Brian served as an officer in the United States Navy, where he obtained a Master’s degree in International Relations.  Upon completing his service, Brian began his banking career as a commercial credit analyst in Kansas City.  After several years as a commercial banker in Kansas City, he moved to Denver and continued his commercial banking career, during which time he obtained his MBA at the University of Colorado.  Just prior to his role at Preferred Lending Partners, Brian was Market President and Chief Lending Officer for a local community Bank.

Brian has served as a Board Member for various non-profit organizations, including the Board of Directors for Preferred Lending Partners since 2015.

Brian tries to spend as much time enjoying Colorado’s great outdoors hiking, fly fishing and playing golf.

Juliene Wynn, Director of Lending & Compliance

Juliene has been in the real estate industry for 20+ years. She began her career with a title company as an Escrow Officer and dabbled in loan processing for a residential mortgage broker, but it’s her role at Preferred Lending Partners that has been the most fulfilling. In 2011, she joined Preferred Lending Partners as a Credit Analyst and in 2018 she transitioned into a business development role. Juliene manages relationships with partner lenders and small business owners guiding them through the process of obtaining an SBA 504 loan. She strives to be an expert of SBA 504 policies and procedures and takes the lead in navigating the submission and approval of loan requests with SBA. She finds that educating bank partners and small business owners on the SBA 504 loan program is the best way she can assist small businesses to become fixtures in the communities that we work and live in.

Juliene is a Colorado native. Outside of work, she enjoys riding her motorcycle, hiking and taking pictures. She loves to travel and is currently working on hiking in all 50 states.

Laura Farley, Chief of Credit

In 2003, Laura joined the PLP team as a credit analyst and worked with the organization for over 8 years. She decided in 2011 to venture beyond the realm of the corporate working world and focused her efforts on outside entrepreneurial endeavors and also her family. But then, in 2016, the world of SBA lending came calling her back into the arena in which she is passionate about; helping small businesses grow and acquire their own commercial real estate. For over 20 years, providing an invaluable service and developing personal and professional relationships has allowed Laura to become not simply a single-focused credit analyst but also a well-rounded small business advocate and advisor.

Laura obtained her Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Iowa in 2000. Through her college studies, she found an ardor for all things business related. The all-encompassing commercial real estate industry provides a platform for which she is able to assist and empower her borrowers as they make a life-long financial investment.

Outside of PLP, Laura and her family stay active enjoying all Colorado has to offer – hiking, running, mountain biking, and of course…visiting breweries.

Renee Phillipps, Closing Manager

Renee moved to Colorado 17 years ago and immediately fell in love with the nature and sunshine this beautiful state has to offer. She spends her free time enjoying the beautiful outdoors if she is not inside doing crafts with her family.

Renee started working with Preferred Lending Partners in 2017 as an intern and eventually found her way to the closing department.  As Closing Officer, she manages the SBA 504 closing process and ensures all loans get the careful attention they deserve. Her favorite part of the day is getting to meet with small business owners and see the successful businesses in action. She is excited to continue to help Preferred Lending Partners grow and help small businesses around Colorado and Arizona.

Gavriela Calderon, Portfolio Manager

Gavriela is a Colorado native. She loves the outdoors you can find her at Rocky Mountain National Park hiking or in the eastern plains horseback riding with her family. She is also a very big animal lover.

Gavriela joined the PLP team in June of 2021 she started her way in the credit department and has worked her way up in the servicing department. She is very excited to be in her new role and help Preferred Lending Partners serve the community one small business at a time.
